La voz pasiva se usa para describir procesos o dar información importante. Sería la forma impersonal en español.

• The film is being promoted by critics.
• La película está siendo promovida por la crítica.

• Forty thousand immigrants are welcomed by Spain every year.
• España recibe a cuarenta mil inmigrantes cada año.

También se usan en inglés verbos modales para describir procesos.

• Some films have to be shown in a smaller venues.
• Algunas películas tienen que ser mostradas en lugares más pequeños.

Ej en español:

• La montaña es tan grande que hace falta un mes para subir.
• The mountain is so big that it takes one month to climb. (to climb = to get the top).

Las construcciones gramaticales que se utilizan son:

• so + adjective or adverb + that
  
• suchs +  (a/an) adjective + noun  + that
